Communion Ministers to the Sick

Are you interested in bringing Holy Communion to those who cannot attend Mass? Consider joining the Ministry to the Sick and Homebound. Ministers bring Holy Communion to those who are unable to attend Mass due to physical incapacity. One must become an Extraordinary Minister of Communion first, and will receive additional training for this Ministry.

Ministers on duty attend the 9 AM Mass. After distribution of Holy Communion, they come forward to receive the pyx and a blessing from the priest, then they are sent. The ministers visit the sick in pairs.

The pastor offers a workshop in the parish once in every two years.

This ministry is considered high-risk and will require an Archdiocesan Screening Process which is simple and non-invasive.

Please contact the parish office at 416-239-1259 or by email at olpeace@archtoronto.org for more information or fill out the Ministry Form and return it to the Parish Office.  Volunteer Screening is required.
