Out of the Cold

St. Matthew’s Anglican Church and Our Lady of Peace Church jointly run the Out of the Cold program every Sunday night during the winter months from November to March for those living on the street. The program is held in the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church gymnasium located at 3962 Bloor St. W. In Etobicoke. Ministers should report by 4:00 PM. OOTC’s goal is to provide a safe place for a night’s rest,  good food, showers, and laundry facilities. On average OOTC feeds 60 to 70 guests, and approximately 30 men stay overnight.

Volunteers wait on our guests during dinner, listen if they want to talk,  and respect their privacy if they do not wish to talk. OOTC provides toiletries and clothes if needed. The purchasing of new clothing, food, medical supplies, subway tokens and other necessary items are made possible through financial donations from various individuals, companies and churches.

OOTC is completely self-supporting; they do not receive any funding from the province or the city.

Please take an Out of the Cold pamphlet for complete details.
